Speaker Simon Toogood will join us in person for 'Mercury's Magnetosphere'
at Wells & Mendip Museum, 8 Cathedral Green, Wells BA5 2UE (use side-arch entrance)
Long-standing WMA member Simon Toogood (MPhys, Leicester) is about to embark on his PhD also at Leicester University. Simon's talk will describe his MPhys research project on the magnetosphere of Mercury using data from NASA's MESSENGER spacecraft, the first mission ever to go into orbit around the closest planet to the Sun.

Guest speaker Peter Goodhew FRAS will join us remotely for 'Revealing the Undiscovered Cosmos'
at Wells & Mendip Museum, 8 Cathedral Green, Wells BA5 2UE (use side-arch entrance)
Peter Goodhew is part of an international team of amateurs using a network of robotic telescopes to reveal hitherto unseen parts of the cosmos. Peter will explain how amateurs are finding new cosmic objects and he will reveal some of the most interesting and unusual discoveries of the past three years. Peter has been photographing deep space since 2015 from two observatories, one in London and the other in southern Spain.

Dr James Lambert, Operations Director of Pulsar Fusion: 'Spacecraft prpulsion and the changing space industry'
at Wells & Mendip Museum, 8 Cathedral Green, Wells BA5 2UE (use side-arch entrance)
James Lambert is Director of Operations at Pulsar Fusion, a UK space propulsion systems and services company specialising in fusion applications. James is based in Bristol and will talk to us about the changing shape of the space industry and the history of Pulsar Fusion.

Dr Ben Sutlieff,: 'Studying exoplanets with giant telescopes'
in Ashwick & Oakhill Village Hall, Zion Hill, Oakhill BA3 5AN
Ben was a junior member of Wells & Mendip Astronomers and is now Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute for Astronomy, Edinburgh University. Ben will explain some of his exoplanet research conducting observing runs with the latest giant telescopes. We will gain a firsthand insight into the nocturnal life of a professional astronomer.
